Good morning, Wilson County. I don’t know about you but this past week has been insufferably hot and humid. Good ole July! It’s the last weekend of July and last weekend for the younger kids before school starts back up. August 1 is their first day.
In today’s WilCo Beat:

A story behind the Lebanon town square
While walking from the Town Social to Cedar City Brewing, you pass by a building and sign with the name Lowry. It’s been a feature of the Lebanon town square since 1964.
The man and legacy behind the name is a profound story in itself.
Jack Lowry grew up in troubled times. And he’s led a storied life in spite of it by successfully defending many in Wilson County.

Local teen launched Clean Cans by Zai to solve this problem in Wilson County.
It started with his grandma needing her can cleaned. And Zaiden, the young entrepreneur, saw an opportunity and was off to the races with his own business.

🏎️ And they’re off
Nashville’s Fairgrounds Speedway continues this Saturday at 5 pm. Two Wilson County locals are set to battle it out as the point leaders while keeping the rest of the group at car’s length.

🦈 Don’t call it a comeback…
Tennessee’s sturgeon are making a comeback. After many years and dollars spent on conservation and preserving sturgeons, their population is making a comeback.
Sturgeon populations were decimated due to harvesting for their eggs and damning of rivers.
They are one of the oldest living fish species on this planet. They deserve out protection especially if we are to blame for their struggles.
