Weapon Detection Systems coming to Wilson County Schools

Soon Wilson County Schools will have weapon detection systems. Starting this week, Wilson Central High School is the first to test a system through Motorola Solutions.

All students and visitors are required to walk through the metal detectors as they enter the school.

Bart Barker, Wilson County Public Information Officer, shared the equipment can easily be moved to protect events such as football games.

Barker shared their goal is to have the systems at all five high schools by the end of this school year (or the beginning of next year).
