Too Many Car Washes?

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Wilson County.

American Airlines scheduled a flight from Kansas City to Las Vegas for the day before the Super Bowl. The flight number is 1989. Taylor Swift’s fifth album is called 1989.

And the return flight? AA87. Travis Kelce wears number 87. (If you’ve been living under a rock, the two are dating.)

In today’s WilCo Beat:

  • Car Washes Galore

  • New Businesses and Cobbler

  • Little Free Libraries

Let’s get to it.

Mockingbird helps by generating a list of prompts then sharing them one by one with your loved ones to collect their replies. Your loved ones easily record a video (think FaceTime) answering the question in their browser (no application needed).

Car Washes Galore

Do we have too many car washes in Wilson County?

Lebanon Mayor Rick Bell believes so. He proposed an ordinance limiting car washes in early January. The vote was in unanimous support of the ordinance.

But the ordinance does not outright ban additional car washes. It moves them from CG-Commercial General District to CO-Commercial Office District & Planned Business Development/Industrial Park District. This may seem like a small move but it will help the city identify possible car wash businesses and know their exact business intention earlier in the approval process.

Local business

Welcome to the area 👋

Cedar City Dental recently opened its doors next to Dunkin on Hwy 109. It’s catty-corner from the new Publix. But maybe don’t enjoy a donut right before or after your teeth cleaning. Check them out.

Live Hydration Spa opened in where The Jewelers once was in Lebanon. They’re located next to the new Thornton’s on Hwy 70. Stop by soon.
